The ruins of the Northern Forts in Karosta is a place as eerie as it is beautiful. What you see are what is left of a military fort built during the tsarist time of Russia. These days the buildings are abandoned and half overtaken by the sea.
I would really recommend a visit to Karosta if you ever happen to be in Liepāja. The former military zone is now a part of the city and is filled with interesting places for whoever who is interested in history or maybe just would like a different kind of experience.
